Letter A- built the letter with sticks, practiced writing the letter on mini whiteboards, looked to see who had the letter in their name, and searched the classroom for the letter.
Here is the song and action for the letter A:
Wiggle fingers on arm to pretend ants are crawling and say a, a, a.

Worked on our counting and number identification skills with some a roll and color activity. Practiced matching the numeral to its quantity with file folder games. And worked on number order with number puzzles.
Conducted an experiment to see what happens when we mix paint colors together!
Ms. Emily visited this week and taught us about pets. We listened to a story about the day in the life of a dog and a squirrel. The students then discussed the differences between the two, and what they should do if they come across a wild animal. They also practiced sorting wild animals and pets. We even got to meet Ms. Emily's pet dog, Molly!
To work on our fine motor skills we made turkeys with push pins.
This week we began our study on health and exercise. We made a list of different exercises, voted on our favorite, and discussed why we need to exercise. We even explored the different ways we can exercise with a hula hoop- jumping in and out, rolling it and catching it before it falls, or driving it around like a car.
Since we are beginning to learn about health and exercise, we also are learning about body awareness. To help us do that, we build Mat Man. We build Mat Man piece by piece as we sing a song. As we build him we are learning the different parts of our body and what they are used for.
Next week we will work on the letter A, and continue our study on health and exercise.
