This week we started working on our letters! Our first letter is S. We searched the classroom for the letter, looked to see who had it in their name, and formed the letter with our play-doh. S is curvy like a snake.
For each letter, we have a song and an action to help us remember the sound the letter makes. Here is the song/action for S:
Make an S in the air with your finger.
Make an S in the air with your finger.
We went on a number hunt and practiced matching up our numbers 1 to 10.
Went fishing for numbers! We practiced sorting the fish by color, and counted the dots to see how old they were.
Practiced reading our numbers books. The number books got sent home this week. Continue to read these books at home to work on counting and number identification!
Conducted an experiment to see what items would float and sink.
Traced our numbers on the iPads.
The dramatic play area is now a doctors office! The students are doing a great job being the secretaries and taking care of the patients.
Next week we will work on the letter A and Ms. Emily will be visiting us!
