Letter F- formed the letter with finger painting, and practiced writing the letter in our workbooks.
Here is the song/action for the letter F:
Practiced measuring animals with links. After we finished measuring, the students then put their animals in order by size.
To work on our number identification skills and counting, students hit the number they rolled with a fly swatter.
For fine motor this week we played with play-doh, picked up pompoms with clothespins, practiced pouring water, and scooped marbles up with spoons.
Emily visited this week and taught the students about all the different things animals can leave behind. They felt animal hides, guessed the animals by their tracks, and took a look at their own footprints.
Had some iPad time.
We have a new area in our classroom. The dramatic play area is now a grocery store! The students are having a blast shopping for goodies and checking out at the cash registers.
This week we also began our study on recycling. We discussed if we ever see garbage on the ground and how it gets there. We also discussed how littering affects our community and how it can hurt the animals.
Next week we will work on the letter B and take a look at where garbage goes after it leaves our houses.
